I have been “forcing” people to watch this film since I first saw it in 1983 at an art house movie theatre. I have bought it on every home movie format that it has been released on (VHS, Laser Disc, DVD and am waiting for Blu-Ray.) I, literally, just got back my DVD I loaned to a co-worker and was doing a web search on reviews when i stumbled on your podcast.
This is a delightful movie that fills me with joy every time I watch it and even just thinking about it will bring its tunes to my head. I am always glad to see that other people get the same feeling about Starstruck.
There was a vinyl release of the soundtrack in the 1980s, but it has never been released digitally. I have ripped the vinyl to digital so I can listen to it anywhere. The soundtrack includes a number of songs that are either only partially heard or are in the background (eg Turnaround, Humming a Tune) and these songs are real winners. You can find the entire soundtrack on YouTube.
Thanks for your podcast!
